He works particularly with people who struggle with guilt, self-criticism, overthinking, and patterns of putting others first at their own expense. You may find yourself worrying about how you come across, feeling responsible for other people's feelings, or finding it difficult to say no. You might avoid conflict, struggle to express frustration, or feel held back by self-doubt even when things seem to be going well.
Psychodynamic counselling explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape your thoughts, emotions, relationships and ways of coping. Jamie offers a professional space where you can slow down, reflect and explore what may be underlying these difficulties.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and Jamie aims to work with curiosity and care, helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
Experience
Jamie trained and worked at the Leicester Psychodynamic Counselling Centre, where he supports clients with a range of emotional difficulties and has assisted in the training of counselling students.
His work is particularly focused on guilt, shame, self-criticism, people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, overthinking and relationship difficulties. He works with adults experiencing emotional conflicts that are suited to psychodynamic exploration.
Jamie is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works in accordance with its ethical framework.

Jamie works with adult clients aged 18 and over. He does not offer couples or group therapy and is not equipped to support people experiencing active psychosis or substance dependency.

Jamie offers a free initial consultation to discuss what is bringing you to counselling, answer any questions you may have and consider whether psychodynamic counselling would be a good fit. There is no obligation to continue after the consultation.
Fees
£50 per 50-minute session. Sessions are held weekly.
